It was a whirlpool-of-a-day filled with island hopping, aimless kayaking, prancing around the colorfully lit Sung Sot Caves, getting excited over our cozy little cabins and feasting on fresh seafood in the fancy dining hall of Poseidon Sail. It will be hard for tomorrow’s lone visit to Titop beach, before sailing back to Hanoi, to top this day. After wrapping our own fresh spring rolls for dinner, it was time to slow down and spend the night in the quiet of Quảng Ninh Province in Vietnam.
No doubt a lot of fun memories were made that July – not to mention that on the year we turned 25, we all stared into the star-clad sky on the roof deck anchored in Ha Long Bay. That we spent the night talking about our everyday worries and fears and wondering about where we’re heading into the future – and if we’re on the right track. If floating along with all the porthole lights was walking along the enchanted fork in the road in Wonderland, the Cheshire Cat would have told us “it really doesn’t matter which way you go… if you only walk long enough.”.
