Snow globes often capture frozen scenes of jolly small towns, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and sweet-smelling pine. And this is exactly how it is in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
After an hour spent riding gondolas and enjoying snowy sceneries with Explore Rockies, we drove off to Banff Avenue. Banff’s main street houses shops, cafes and restaurants – all of which, when put together, looks like a filming studio for A Christmas Carol. Shops sold items in classy leather and fur. Cafes were homey, just as pubs were cozy. Restaurants served dishes from sushi to steak, to McDonald’s. Upon reaching Caribou Corner, the scent of caramelized apples and chocolate chunks invited us into Mountain Chocolates for some sweet treats to take back home from this little winter wonderland.
