You know – without a doubt – that an online campaign has gone viral when social networking sites have more content than the official website. Okay let’s give it time for the website to catch up. After all, it’s only been two days since “It’s more fun in the Philippines” was launched. That aside, overall I’d say the idea is genius. Not to discredit their brilliance, but more than the Philippine Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. and the ad agency BBDO Guerrero, the Filipinos and even foreigners who are creating and sharing personalized memes own this campaign.
‘How long will the memes keep coming’ is another question. But hey, those already uploaded aren’t going anywhere anyway. Keep tagging. #1forfun. #itsmorefuninthephilippines.
Join the fun. Create your own It’s more fun in the Philippines meme here and share it through your social networking accounts. Using this Flickr group and tagging it with the specific event, festival or location makes it more googleable – not a bad idea.
